Flu and other respiratory infections on the rise

Influenza, COVID-19 and Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) infections continue to spread in our community. Washington State Department of Health recently issued a high-level alert on a surge in RSV and flu.

You can help limit the spread of the flu, RSV and other respiratory infections by following safe public health practices. Especially if you are around young children or older adults:

  • A flu shot is the best choice for most people.
  • The COVID-19 booster is also a good choice.
  • Please stay home if you’re sick. Call PTHA for further instructions.
  • Cover your coughs and sneezes.
  • Wash your hands often.
  • Consider wearing a mask indoors around those most at risk.
  • Limit the time you spend in childcare centers or other potentially contagious settings.
